Born in Nebraska and the middle of 7 kids, Todd has been dancing formally since he was 22, but has been around Ballroom Dancing his whole life. His parents met dancing on the BYU formation team, where they went on to win the first place trophy at the British Open Championships in Blackpool England in 1972. In 2003 Todd traveled to Blackpool with the formation team at UVSC in Orem, and went on to win the same trophy that his parents had won 31 years earlier.

Todd continues to compete in both Ballroom and Latin dance styles, and is currently ranked among the top 16 couples in the United States. He has taught every level of dancer from social and beginning couples to competitive dancers, including countless nervous wedding couples for their first dance together.

With a unique teaching style that focuses on teaching students HOW TO DANCE, rather than just teaching A SPECIFIC DANCE, Todd trains students to move themselves properly and gracefully around the dance floor.  Through a teaching method he has designed on his own he teaches students how to dance through 3 basic principles of rhythm, balance, (hip action), and leading/following. He also teaches correct technique for, posture, timing, styling, power, musicality, including proper etiquette of ballroom dancing as students advance.

He has an easy going and professional demeanor which helps the students feel at ease and comfortable as they learn.

Todd teaches both International and American (social) styles of Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Paso Doble, Jive, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Bolero, Salsa, Merengue, and Mambo.
